Excellent forum on racism tonight
Grand Haven Tribune

To the Editor:

I strongly urge the members of my Spring lake community, and Spring Lake High School administrators, educators, and students to take advantage of an excellent forum on tonight at 7 at Antioch Christian Center at 15051-177th Avenue in Grand Haven.

We will share stories, listen to the struggles of members of our community, and learn how to support each other in the effort to fight racism. Four residents (including a high school student who lives in Spring Lake) will speak about their own experiences in confronting racism. Others will be able to share their stories, as well, if they wish.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.” So, do these issues matter to you? If so, then it is time to encourage this much-needed communication and education by attending.

You can call Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance if you have any questions at 846-9736. It would be very encouraging to see a large attendance form my Spring Lake community! (Of course, all Tri-Cities residents are welcome.)
