Racial Equity Institutes
The Diversity Alliance has offered Institutes for Racial Healing since 2000 and has engaged a cumulative total of 385 participants. In 2012 we revised our model, infused it with the latest research in the racial equity field, and launched the newly renamed Racial Equity Institute.
Through facilitated dialogues and activities, participants are immersed in an
educational, interactive program of learning and sharing within a racially diverse group. Participants are empowered to create a new future for our families and community. Our model encourages honest, real dialogue and discussion as we form a common language and framework regarding racial equity. Throughout the course, participants examine the four dimensions of racism explore how unintentional bias affects choices; and are provided interactive tools and solutions.
Select courses eligible for State Board - Continuing Education Units (SB-CEUs) or academic credit approved through Grand Valley State University. Additional fees apply.
