This session raised awareness of societal messages that define the relative value of peoples, cultures, practices and customs inequitably. Presenters discussed their own journeys in coming to recognize the impact of these messages. Participants learned how negative or positive stereotypes reinforce perceptions, and how people may come to believe or resist these stereotypes.
